Hi, I’m Kandis

My story

Becoming a parent can feel incredible… but also overwhelming, uncertain, and full of questions you didn’t expect. I’ve spent over 20 years working in the NHS as a paediatric clinician — but the most important experience I bring is being a mum of three.

I know what it’s really like. The excitement, the overthinking, the “am I doing this right?” moments — and how overwhelming it can feel when you’re expected to just figure it all out.

Bloom & Slumber was created to be something different.
A place where you can ask anything, feel supported, and get honest, practical guidance — without judgement, pressure, or information overload.

How I support you

However you’re feeling right now — excited, overwhelmed, unsure, or all of it at once — you’re not alone.

You might be wondering if you’re doing things “right”, second-guessing decisions, or just wishing someone could walk you through it all in a way that actually makes sense.

That’s where I come in.

I’m here to support you with calm, practical guidance — helping you feel more confident, more prepared, and a little less overwhelmed at every stage.

Here’s what that support can look like for you:

  • Personalised support in the comfort of your own home

  • Calm, non-judgemental guidance

  • Support for both you and your partner

  • Evidence-based advice with a holistic approach

  • Ongoing support when you need it most

Why families choose Bloom & Slumber

Families choose Bloom & Slumber because they feel genuinely supported, understood, and guided by expertise they can trust. With accredited Sleep Practitioner training through The Sleep Charity at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and years of experience in paediatrics and community paediatrics, I bring a calm, compassionate, evidence‑based approach to every family I work with. I take the time to listen, to understand each child’s unique needs, and to create personalised sleep plans with manageable, realistic strategies that fit everyday life. Alongside this, I offer tailored coaching and ongoing reassurance, helping families feel confident, empowered, and supported as we work together to improve their child’s sleep and overall wellbeing.

  • Over 20 years of NHS clinical experience

A little more about me

Outside of my clinical work, I’m a mum to three boys — so I know just how full-on, emotional, and unpredictable family life can be.

It’s busy, it’s noisy, and it’s far from perfect… but it’s real.

And that’s exactly how I approach the support I offer.

No pressure to “get everything right”.
No unrealistic expectations.

Just honest, calm guidance that fits into real life — the kind that actually helps when you need it most.

Let’s talk about what you need

If you’re feeling unsure where to start, that’s completely okay — most people do.

Whether you’ve got lots of questions or just want to talk things through, we can start with a simple, relaxed chat.

No pressure, no expectations — just a friendly conversation to see what feels right for you.

Even if you’re not sure what you need yet — that’s exactly what this chat is for.
